Natalie Portman is my new hero

Yeah you read it right.
Jane Austens pride and prejudice was turned into a zombie thriller, basically they added chapters of random zombie fights and some minor rewriting took place

I think the best part is that Natalie Portman is making sure that it is turned into a movie. She's producing it and starring as the lead role

YAY NATALIE PORTMAN!!!

Guerrilla Marketing: thought provoking posters

Guerrilla marketing is the art of catching and grabbing the viewer's attention by placing the unexpected in common places. The unconventional can deliver a powerful message as the following images show.

These disturbing images placed in the bottom of shopping carts by Feed SA, a South African charity dedicated to feeding disadvantaged people, resulted in both a large increase in donations plus a big boost in website traffic from people wanting to learn more.

Tired of people spray-painting graffiti on their buses and trains, the Australian Public Transport Authority targeted the ‘graffidiots’ with this ad campaign reminding would-be vandals what the consequences of their actions could be.

A blank set of elevator doors features two sets of fingers peeking out from the seam, as if someone inside is trying to escape. Inside the elevator the owner of those fingers: a man in a prison jumpsuit and leg-cuffs. Witness Against Torture, a human rights group, used this ad to campaign for the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

With creativity, powerful emotions can be created with teh most simple of tools.

Random cool videos

Did i ever mention i want one?

I'm a sucker for good slowmotion shots. i watch that show Time Warp on the discovery channel all the time. Slow motion photography is shot with high-speed (high frame rate) cameras and the present king of high-speed cameras is the I-Movix SprintCam V3 HD, which can shoot at an incredible 2,500 frames/second in HD. (I-Movix also has an 8000 frames/second model used in the Olympics).

SprintCam v3 NAB 2009 showreel from David Coiffier on Vimeo.

The above video is the first SprintCam v3 showreel, which was made for the NAB 2009 exhibition. It was shot mainly at 1000 frames per second (FPS) at a rubgy competition in the Stade de France, Paris.

i know of a couple restaurants that i wouldn't mind having a couple more locations specifically a little pizza shop called nice slice.

Baman Piderman

though it may sound like your are just talking with your mouth full its actually the title of this hilarious series made by one very cool Alex Butera. As you watch you may be thinking to yourself doubtingly "did a little kid make this?" or "my teefwe is numb, i can't find my left sheew" as your iq steadily drops below the 70 points mark...
...WELL if you take the time to actually notice the highly efficient animation style they (the authors) use in the series, you may come out a little surprised, but still wanting to talk like them.

The whole series can be viewed on youtube!!! :D :D :D...

...yay

And now some music to wrap your head around

I bring to you...
....AESOP ROCK

Aesop Rock is an American hip hop artist/producer. He was in the forefront of the new wave of underground/alternative acts that emerged during the late 1990s/early 2000s. Aesop’s style has always been on the top of my list. It blends a varying tone and delivery with lyrics that contain intricate sequences of widely varying imagery, metaphors, puns, absurdism, and pop culture references, while including the occasional touchstones of traditional hip hop storytelling and self-promotion. As a result of this unorthodox style, Aesop has become a controversial rapper among hip hop enthusiasts.

and to really switch gears and genres i bring to you...

BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW

Black Moth Super Rainbow came from the woods of western Pennsylvania. An actual, five-member band without the expected laptops and sequencers, BMSR is a psych-electro group in early-’70s electronic clothing. All are lovingly played by real people with real hands.

Members prefer to go by aliases and stay away from normal press photos, in an attempt to keep the focus on their music. Led by Tobacco (Vox), who does most of the writing and production, the band also consists of Father Hummingbird (rhodes and monosynth), The Seven Fields Of Aphelion (monosynth), Ryan Graveface (bass and guitar) and Iffernaut (drums).

and to just have fun lets throw them both together

:D hehehe...

...yeah [insert ending sequence here]

Top 40...

So it's been brought to my attention that the music on the radio today really sucks...

...yeah thats about all I have to say about that...

...I came across a couple interesting new bands to look up
One in particular
they call themselves The Dodos

They are a semi-original sounding band from the west coast.
I say semi-original because the hell if I can tell you what's original or not. I just know I haven't heard them use any auto-tuning yet and i like what I'm hearing.
Anyway its a three piece band its got a guitarist and drummer and a mallets player (xylophone/bells).
How many rock/folk bands do you know that uses mallets, I bet not many.

An introduction to Schmitt

hello, my name is Schmitty, and i will be your narrator...
...flattering photo I know, but i was filling my face with a delicious homemade baked good from christmas.

Now then. I am currently a Sophmore enrolled at the Rhode Island School of Design. I am an Illustration major student and i am absolutely loving it. The environment, the teachers, just fantastic (a good example of the excellence is if a musician was surrounded by other musicians, being taught by Steve Vai).

There will be various types of posts I feel (that is if anyone actually cares and or reads this...  [insert cricket here] )  being an artist, a lover of music, and an open minded individual, i have been approached several times to make a blog on multiple things so im not that inclined on making multiple but i finally forced myself into making only one. OH GOD, it just hit me like a sack of potatoes...

...im a blogger

*facepalm*
